Story of Gabe

Gabe is the 8-year old son of Courtney and Justin. Gabe's heart is as big as his bright innocent eyes, and his passion for saving dogs knows no bounds. He is always the first to lend a helping hand to any furry friend in need, and his love for them is boundless. 

One day while driving, Courtney began discussing the idea of starting a rescue. Gabe's eyes lit up with excitement. He felt a deep connection with dogs that found themselves without a home or someone to love them, and he yearned to make a difference in their lives. While brainstorming ideas for the name of the rescue, Gabe was the one who came up with the perfect name: "Licking for Love." Though it would still take some time before Licking for Love became a reality, the journey was started in that moment.

A few months later, the day came when Courtney and Justin told Gabe that Licking for Love was officially a reality. However, they had to explain that it would take some time before they could start taking in dogs. The cost of getting everything started and the expenses associated with caring for the dogs were a significant hurdle. Gabe nodded, his face showing a mix of understanding and determination. 

With a solemn expression, Gabe ran off. Moments later, he reappeared, clutching something in his hands. Gabe stood in front of his parents and opened his hands, revealing a pile of crumpled dollars and coins. He Said, "Mommy, you can have all of my money. I want to give it to the rescue. You can have all of the dollars and coins. There are even some 20s in there. So is that enough?" 

Tears welled up in his parents eyes as they looked at Gabe, his generous heart laid bare before them. His compassion and willingness to give everything he had touched their hearts in a way that words could not describe.
